The ingredients for an even more devastating pandemic than COVID-19 are already in place. The rate of viral spill-overs from animals to human beings has been increasing, even as advances in new biotechnology tools raise the spectre of manmade pandemics deadlier than anything that can be cooked up by nature.
The Western Australian government’s review of its COVID-19 response is a chance for us to give government ideas about how it could do better at pandemic prevention and preparedness. Your voice can urge WA to be ambitious in the recommendations of this review. Every submission is read and considered by a public servant so we can have an outsized voice on the margin.
At this event, Good Ancestors Policy (https://www.goodancestors.org.au/policy) will explain its Theory of Change and a recent win from empowering and equipping the Australian EA community to make submissions just like this one. We will be providing some policies from our research as well as a guidance note to help you draft a submission.
